Why Over 40s? Well, after 40 and even the age of 35 for some (including me), our body starts to go through changes, physically and hormonally. This Fitness For Over 40s class is designed with those changes in mind, to support you as you’re going through this stage of change.
With hormonal fluctuations, potential pelvic health issues such as leaking when exercising and changes to the way our body responds to our normal eating habits, this class provides a friendly environment of supportive women and movement to support your changing needs.
Each class contains an element of strength exercise which helps you to build and preserve your muscle. Increasing our lean mass will rev up your metabolism as it takes more energy to preserve lean mass. Don’t worry, you won’t suddenly have huge muscles but you will notice a wonderful increase in your muscle tone. We also get sweaty but tailor the intensity and workout to your current fitness levels.
As our hormones start to change, it’s important that we support our bone health with strength based exercise. This not only helps to keep us strong and mobile over the long term but it helps you to maintain optimal bone health throughout menopause and beyond.
We are a strictly no leaking zone. We guide you on how to effectively protect your core and pelvic floor during exercise and will ensure that any activity you’re doing, is supportive of your pelvic floor.
We understand that you and your body are unique. The class program is adapted to your individual needs so you never have to worry about whether you are fit or strong enough to join. We start with where you are now.
The class program is designed to help you to become fitter and stronger over time. Your body needs change to adapt and become stronger so the classes are specially designed to be progressive over time, to help you to get the best results!

Book a 6 week to Strong course and work with Hayley in 6 x 121 sessions. Each week we do a 1 hour 121 session via zoom. You’ll learn how to do the movements correctly and build strength and confidence as you go. The session is recorded and sent to you so you can practice, building fitness, strength and confidence, ready to start class.
